“The Price” Review

Hello Friends!

Here is a review of a book with a setting that I haven’t read many books about, so I was very intrigued by the synopsis and the possibilities in the story.

The Price“, written by Kerry Kaya, is a Crime thriller / Gangland novel, published on 13th July 2021 by Boldwood Books.

I want to thank Rachel, at Rachel’s Random Resources, and Kerry Kaya and Boldwood Books, via NetGalley, for the eCopy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

My Review

I haven’t read many books focus on gangsters, except when they were the bad guys in some crime or mystery novels. So it was quite interesting to read a book that had not only a crime element, but also some romance in the mix, which I liked because it gave the book an added tension.

I love that there is a darker sense to the story because we are connecting with Fletch and he’s part of a gang. There is danger and action in a criminal setting. It had twist and turns and I loved that it got me curious to know what will happen next. The characters were what made me really want to read page after page. Although they are criminals, I could understand their motivations, which was fascinating and it made wonder.

With interesting characters that had firm personalities and were dynamic. With rival gangs, street crime, and that feel of good and bad in the characters attitudes and goals. I went through the book at a fast pace. It was attention grabbing and had some curious moments, that made me thing of what was happening and comparing it to the real world and the possibilities and truth in the plot.

Overall, it was exciting and surprising, and it wasn’t what I expected, but in a good way. I enjoyed it and it was refreshing for me.
