My Review

When I read the blurb I was very curious about the book because I haven’t read that many books that follow different time periods, but this one was fun because both characters were interesting and there was mystery and romance, combined with a beautiful setting and many little things that just made the book feel real.

I won’t give any details about the book, but you will get that I liked several things about it. Many elements of this book made it interesting and it caught my attention, sometimes I wanted something more, but the more I read the more I wanted to know about the book and how everything would turn out.

p1070164If you read the blurb, you know this books is set in 1973 and 2017, following CiCi and Tina. They are both quite intriguing character, with different but strong personalities, but to whom I could feel empathy. I loved all the connections and to know more about them both as I kept reading the book. And learning about them and their lives, as well as uncover the mysteries, was what made me turn each page eagerly.

Besides the amazing main characters and the plot, I loved the descriptions. They gave some flow to the plot and the mystery and romance, plus the descriptions made the setting very visual to me. I have never been to Hawaii, but every time I read a book and I read the beautiful descriptions of the nature and it gives out this paradise feeling, I get curious. So the descriptions that Diane Demetre wrote were some of my favorite aspects in the story.

Overall, I loved the book. I loved the connections between both time lines and the characters. I loved the setting because it made it more intriguing, and I loved every thing aspect of the plot, from the romance (and everything that comes with it) and the mystery.

If you want to read a book that is set in two different time periods, and are curious about this book, go read it. Enjoy it!
