Hello Friends!
I have been busy today, running around and yesterday I started a new novel. Speaking of which… I was planning to do a post yesterday about NaNoWriMo, but I will wait until next week so I can show you guys a chapter of the story.
Nevertheless, despite the busy month I will continue to post reviews. And now that Halloween is over… Christmas books are in! That’s today’s book… a Christmas-y book. “Christmas Spirit” is a Romantic Comedy standalone novella written by Nicola May.
I want to thank Rachel, at Rachel’s Random Resources, and Nicola for the eCopy of this book and for allowing me to join in the fun and by being a part of the blog tour with my honest review of the book.
Blurb
It’s two days before Christmas – and Evie Harris finds herself both manless and jobless. After a chance encounter with handsome Greg (and egged on by her toy-boy-eating friend, Bea) she agrees to work at a homeless shelter on Christmas Day.
Striking up an unlikely friendship with homeless Yves, Evie begins an unwitting journey of spiritual awakening, all set against the sparkling winter backdrop of London landmarks.
A New Year’s Eve revelation is on its way . . . but will it leave Evie with a happy heart, or will she allow the pre-Christmas past to dictate her future?

My Review
This book was a quick and sweet novella that made me think about life, and it has the perfect storyline for a Christmas book. It was my first Nicola May’s book I read, but I quite liked how she wrote this novella.
We first meet Evie, and she’s not having a good start of Christmas, but things seemed to be getting better once she met Greg. As the story starts to unfold you learn a little bit more with each page that we read. Plus, although it’s a novella, we get to see some character development, and that’s always great to see, and it made me connect with Evie.
It was a Christmas novella with a message, and that’s always appropriate, no matter the time os the year. So I quite like that it was thought-provoking and sweet, with all the lovely moments and romance beginning.
Overall, from the characters to the subjects that it talks about, this novella really does talks to our hearts and ask us to go in this fast-paced journey with a great flow, love, friendship, message, and I really recommend it because I truly believe people should read this book and reflect about life and the Christmas Spirit inside of each one of us.
