The Shooting Star Mountain resort is a magical place, and Sarah has fond memories of Christmas here as a little girl – visits to Father Christmas, husky rides in the snow and hot chocolate by a roaring fire. But as the resorts new owner, Will refuses to play snowball or to deck the halls with anything remotely resembling tinsel!

With customers complaining their Christmas is ruined, Sarah decides it’s up to her to convince Scroogey Will just how magical Christmas can be….

But getting Will into the Christmas spirit is hopeless – he is Bah Humbug personified! But as Sarah gets to know him better, she realises that underneath all the gloom is a man struggling with a pain of his own.

With the big day approaching, Sarah realises that the magic and sparkle can wait. This year, she’s going to spend Christmas day with someone special her very own Mr Scrooge…

Author Bio

ZaraStoneley authorpicBorn in a small village in Staffordshire, I wanted to be a female James Herriot, a spy, or an author when I grew up. After many years, and many different jobs, my dream of writing a bestseller came true.

I write about friendship, dreams, love, and happy ever afters, and hope that my tales make you cry a little, laugh a lot, and occasionally say ‘ahhh’.

I now live in a Cheshire village with my family, a lively cockapoo called Harry, and a very bossy (and slightly evil) cat called Saffron.

My Review

This is the first Zara Stoneley’s book that I’ve read and it was such and adventure. I sometimes don’t feel like reading a RomCom, because I have to be in the mood, but when I read the blurb and saw the Christmas-y touch, I know I had to read this book and celebrate the release day with my honest review.

P1060946That been said, it was a love story, but it was also this fun journey with so much humor and funny moments between characters that it made the book enjoyable to read. The kind of book I would read anytime after a long tiring day, in bed with Nala (my cat) as a my reading companion, and some warm blankets around me. And that’s what I did, actually.

Despite all the fun I had with the interactions between Sarah and all the other characters (especially Will), there was some mysteries and twist and turns that made the book unexpected and not just a romance comedy. And that unexpected element of the book was what made me even more intrigued.

So, yeah… It was a book about love, loss, searching for ourselves, our happiness, but it was also this interactive book in a way. Sarah was relatable and real character that made me feel like I was involved in the story. Well… the author’s writing style was what made it possible for me to get involved in the book and story, and really cheer for the characters and wonder about their secrets and their future.

Do I recommend the book? Yes! Let’s start this Christmas-y adventure and by doing that, let’s get more Christmas related book… and more of Zara Stoneley’s books so I can laugh some more, and fall in love with the stories and characters like I did in this novel.
