So, like I said in the last post, I have some posts for you today, and this one is another review post, in this case from a book I read during my vacations in France.
“Italian Millionaire, Runaway Principessa” is a book written by the awesome Sun Chara. A contemporary romance published last year by Harper Impulse. And this is the second book I’m ready of Sun Chara.
I want to thank Rachel, at Rachel’s Random Resources, and Sun Chara for the eCopy of this book and for allowing me to join in the fun and by being a part of the blog tour with my honest review of the book.
Tug-a-war between the sexes!
Infamous Italian neurosurgeon, Peter Medeci, has a score to settle with his estranged wife: her reckless bid for independence has nearly destroyed his medical career.
Ellie, desperate to reassert herself as more than his bedroom playmate, flees the ‘fairytale’ for a gig in a Hollywood club until Peter comes looking for her. For her freedom, Ellie must spend the next three weeks being the ‘good doctor’s wife’ in public…and his mistress in private!

This quick 180 pages novel was just what I needed one tiring late afternoon. It was fast paced, with plenty of sexy moments and a lot of funny ‘I can’t believe it’ moments because of the miscommunication between the characters. But in the end all the things tied up nicely and it had that HEA I love so much when I’m trying to escape real life.
Peter and Ellie were two characters that I liked because they weren’t bad people, they just had some communication difficulties, and that was understanding, but it also made me laugh. Especially with all the fantasies and sexual moments between them during the three weeks they are back together.
This book had that second chance kind of vibe, although they were already married, their relationship wasn’t the best, still, I found myself wishing for them to talk and say what they really felt and wanted. Peter really wanted to win Ellie back and she just wanted him to see her point of view instead of taking her back and living the married life as if she was his mistress instead of his wife. So I understood her, but if she would just talk to him and say that she wasn’t happy to say home and be his trophy wife… It would go so much easier.
Nevertheless, it was that miscommunication that made the book as good as it was, because it was real and honest. Because it gave the storyline some drama and funny moments. Because it made it possible for the characters to develop during the all plot of the book.
And even though I would have loved some more pages, I still enjoyed the book a lot. I recommend her book to everyone that to escape the real world for a couple of hours with a sexy and romantic book.
