“Three Bloody Pieces” Review

Hello Friends!

How are you doing this fine Wednesday? This will be my last week in France, next Monday night I will be on a plane going back to Portugal. It’s been a cray time here and I’m so happy I came since I got to see some of my cousins’ kids that I haven’t seen in a while and those that were born in the last 3 years.

Nevertheless, you guys are here for a review and not to read about my big family and my vacations.

Today I bring you a review of “Three Bloody Pieces“, by Elizabeth Davies, which is a Paranormal, historical, magical first book in the series, released last year, and this is a book birthday blitz.

I want to thank Rachel, at Rachel’s Random Resources, and Elizabeth for the eCopy of this book and for allowing me to join in the fun and by being a part of the blog tour with my honest review of the book.

Herleva is a woman filled with ambition and greed. A woman who intends to be more than a commoner. A woman who gets what she wants by whatever means possible, even if she has to practice the dark arts to achieve her goals.

My Review

P1060780Starting with a bang, this book keep us interested and it was a page turner. And as we kept reading the story we started understanding the background of the characters and the history of the world. That aspect gave us the possibility to learn in a different way the plot and follow the storyline.

The characters were well written and their development made them real. The female protagonist, Caitlyn, was a strong character that made her mark in the history/story of the book and my mind, since she was different from some female characters in this genre.

P1060781The magic element combined with the historical fiction and the touch of truth in it, were perfect and kept the story fresh and gave the book a good pace that moved along pretty well, since it takes over, not months, but a year.

There were twist and turns, there was action, drama, danger, magic and plotting. And as we follow Caitlyn and her companions we start to connect with them more and more as we learn about their lives, dreams, fears and pasts, as well as we get so stuck in the plot and the events that are happening.

I can’t wait to read the next one to keep understanding the world and learn what will happen next.
